Background

The Department of Computer Science was established in 1990, following a delinking from the Department of Mathematics. Today, twenty-five (25) years later, the department remains one of the smallest departments in the Faculty of Science and Engineering in terms of resources such as staffing positions, equipment and physical infrastructure. This has severely affected the growth of department and its ability to better fulfil its mandate of teaching, research and community service.
