Biography

Dr Zenzo Polite Ncube is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Eswatini. He is holder of PhD degree in Computer Science, Masters of Science in Computer Science (Merit), Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mathematics and Computer Science, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Practical Legal Training (PLT).

He has over 20 years' experience in higher education where he has been teaching, supervising and leading academic programs in various universities of Southern Africa. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Data Science, AI Governance, Technology Law and intelligent systems application for solving societal problems. He works in the areas of trustworthy AI, cyber resilience, digital transformation and inter-disciplinary approaches to sustainable development. Dr Ncube has supervised many MSc and PhD students, coordinated international research collaborations and was involved in curriculum development, quality assurance and programme accreditation. He is a Chair of the Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics Research Group and involved in collaborative research, grant writing and postgraduate capacity development. He is the UNESWA Coordinator for the Grow Green Africa (Gr2A: https://gr2a.org/) project,which is part of the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme Initiative funded by the European Commission. The project has five participating African institutions: National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Zimbabwe, Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Namibia, Copperbelt University (CBU) in Zambia, Rhodes University (RU) in South Africa, and University of Eswatini (UNESWA) in Eswatini as well as the University of Turku (UTU), a European Union partner from Finland. His dream is to contribute to responsible and trustworthy AI, increase cybersecurity resilience and conduct research and innovations contributing to Africa's digital transformation and sustainable development.
